 Why is there electoral voting balance or symmetry?

Election day here in Sweden yesterday, and tied.

It always amazes me how elections are so tight, so balanced, so symmetrical.
Yesterday, I spent a little bit of time working on the update of my old and first insight from the fractal, what I call the marginal fractal, saying that an economy/life is a fractal. Without getting woo-woo, it's all about symmetry.
I'm convinced there is a connection ..
To get near or closest to the truth (the snowflake shape of a Koch snowflake fractal in this case), freedom and competition of ideas are required; no 'gatekeepers'.
The diagram shows the (marginal) benefit (blue) and marginal cost (green) from another iteration. Equilibrium is at and around 5 iterations. I think it is the origin of supply and demand/price determination in a market. The market is a fractal.
I have argued that democracy is at equilibrium and authority (monopoly) is not (the red area).

Fractal Dimension, (Economic's) Elasticity and Complexity

Update May 2017 This is by far my best idea; I have written it up in a working paper at  my academia.edu  and  vixra , and named it:   Quantum Mechanics, Information and Knowledge, all Aspects of Fractal Geometry and Revealed in an Understanding of Marginal Economics.
